Branding / Design
I was approached by Channel 7 Restaurant Revolution contestant, Dom Aboud, to design the brand identity for his Sydney restaurant, Somewhere Nice.
It was 1 week before the launch of the restaurant and his current Identity was ripped apart by his mentors, Neil Perry & Lisa Ho.
I had 3 evenings to re-design the logo, with the intention to role out signage & menu.
After meeting with Dom and getting a feel for his personality, & restaurant concept. I decided to centre the design around the visual of a carrot.
Why the carrot?
• It was a cream of carrot soup that Dom made when he was 9 years old that started him on his cooking journey.
• The carrot tells of Dom's focus on wholesome food & produce.
• Lastly, the carrot's leaves visually act as a cover, much like a palm tree in an oasis. A play on being 'Somewhere Nice'.
The logo was a success, unfortunately the series was short lived.
